31 Days of Riesling in Wales and Cornwall.  A celebration of just about our favourite grape, promoted by Wines of Germany.  EDS was last year's overall UK restaurant Winner.

Our Kitchen Garden Open Day.  Guided tours of the garden followed by tea for all. To find out more, drop us an email here.

The Royal Welsh Agricultural Show.  To give it its full name.  Just half an hour up the A470 in Builth Wells.  Until 26 July.

Felin Fach Show.  Also to give it its full title.  Very wee compared to RWAS but more than makes up for it is charm and local importance.

Our next Wine Supper.  More details to come as we near Autumn.  £60 a head.  All enquiries to here

A Bottle Shop

We don't find it easy to buy good wine in the area.  Fingal Rock Wines in Monmouth is an obvious exception and we like the look of newcomers to Hereford, Noble & Wild.
But with each of those two 45 minutes from us, we become a good option if you're looking to buy wine by the bottle or by the case.

We're happy to sell any of the wines on our list to take away at retail prices.  These are good wines, well made by exacting wine makers, often organic or biodynamic.

Sunday Sleepover

Available all year round.  Kick back with us for Sunday lunch, the papers and maybe an afternoon walk.  Then supper, a good night's sleep and a great breakfast on Monday morning.

From just £230 for two people (principally when the clocks are on BST), and from £205 when the Winter Escape returns.

To check availability for any of our offers or to book a table, do drop us an email here.

Into Summer

After a couple of days of closure to let everyone breathe after the Hay Festival, we now remain open right through the summer.

For those wanting to stay, our usual DBB packages will be in place as usual (prices on our Sleep page).  For those who want to stay for 4+ nights, we have a Summer Holiday offer which eases the pain.

Not Lunch, Not Supper.  Perfect if you're coming off a hill at 3pm.  We're now able to feed you right through the afternoon.  Not a full menu but sharing boards showing off the best of our neighbouring suppliers such as Black Mountains Smokery and Trealy Farm Charcuterie.

The Winter Escape

From 28 October

Our Winter Escape was, by design, aimed at those making a last minute decision to take a break from the grimness of Winter.  So it feels a bit odd to promote it in midsummer.

But a few of you are so good at planning ahead that it seems miserly of us not to make you aware of it now.  Just one night that can feel like a real break.

From £170 a couple for up to three courses at supper from anywhere om our evening menu, your room and breakfast: Sunday to Thursday and outside of holidays and half terms.

Ever popular resolutions to difficult present problems, our vouchers can be with you within a couple of days.

For any amount, or for a particular offer, and usable at any EATDRINKSLEEP inn, they last at least 12 months and we’re happy to extend them if needed.
Email us at

We now even send them to you in a little pack that you can give to the lucky recipient.  An improvement on our previous Blue Peter efforts.

We donate 5% of voucher sales in each December to our chosen charities.  This year you've helped us raise nearly £1600 to share between St.  Johns Centre in Brecon, Breadline Penzance and the CHICKS charity.

“Everything a winter pub should be: warm, welcoming, and characterful, with huge squishy sofas and exceptionally fine food.”
